The band is entirely self funded and reliant on its own activities and charity funding in order to ensure the existence of the band. The Academy band was formed in 2019 to bridge the gap from the training and senior bands. We are very pleased to have the support of PYMS (Plymouth Youth Music Services). On occasion, the sports hall would be divided into separate games with boys on one side and girls on the other and sometimes, against each other. Both groups would wait in anticipation for the whistle, then the drop of the six balls which you hoped would bounce straight into your hands to chuck towards the enemies. The aim is to get people moving by avoiding the flying balls that are thrown by the opposing team with dives, jumps and sprints.
